$7.99As far as inexpensive mass-market wines go this one beats out others you can find at your local grocery store named after penguin’s and flip-flop’s. They’re easy to find, tasty and pretty consistent. Like the Chipotle of wines.
This particular Merlot had a nice smooth finish and pleasant minerality (a ridiculous wine word that means it tastes like or somehow has the essence of stone, I know I know, but I like this one). A bit thick in the mouth with dark fruit notes of blackberry and plum. Definitely full-bodied but with a sprite lift of acidity.
